Hi, I had read on Pinterest that you can use alcohol markers with spray alcohol to create some fabulous effects. I am always keen to try a new technique so decided to give it a go. The process is very simple, the main thing to remember is to use a non porous surface so that the ink doesn’t sink in. The item that I read also recommended using 99% alcohol for the best results. The alcohol spray is not something that we sell, I bought mine easily on the internet. This is what I used.

I also bought a small spritzing bottle thinking that it would be easier to use, but the larger quantities of the alcohol that are dispensed by the big bottle made the process much easier.

To Make The Card

Start with a white A6 blank card and layer it with lilac card. Take a piece of white vellum approx. 8cm square, use an alcohol marker pen to scribble colour onto part of the vellum. Spray the colour with the alcohol, you should see the ink start to run, use a heat gun to dry it and also move it around a bit. You will find that because of the high alcohol content it dries very quickly. Repeat this process with pink and purple markers until the piece of vellum is covered and you are happy with the effect. Use double sided adhesive tape to adhere the vellum to a piece of white card and trim it to 7cm square. Adhere the square to the left had end of the tent fold card.

Die cut a leaf stem from white card and glue it over the vellum. Stamp the greeting in purple ink on white card, trim it and adhere to the card overlapping the vellum. Finish off with a few drops of white 3D pearl accents.

I love the effect of the alcohol markers, and backing it with white card made the colours pop even more. Its an easy way to achieve stunning effects. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like it. All the products used are linked below.
