Hi, exciting times for me as I finally get to play with alcohol inks! This was great fun and so easy to do, I am really pleased with the results. The bonus is that having made the fancy background you don’t need a great deal more to complete a card. As usual the photo doesn’t show the mirror card very well.
To Make The Card
For the background panel, cut a piece of Yupo paper 9.75cm x 14cm. Add drops of the different colours of alcohol ink and use the blower tool to move them around. Drops of blending solution added to the ink will allow more movement. Once you have most of the paper covered with ink add a couple of drops of gold alcohol alloy, dilute the drops with blending solution and again move it around and break it up using the blower tool. Continue with this process until you have covered the Yupo paper and are happy with the results. Set it aside to dry.
Take a white A6 blank card and add a layer of gold mirror card 10.25cm x 14.5cm. Die cut two Christmas trees from gold mirror card. Stamp the sentiment on turquoise card with Versamark ink and heat emboss with gold embossing powder, trim the right hand end diagonally. Adhere the sentiment strip to a piece of gold mirror card and trim it so that there is a narrow border along the top and diagonal edges.
Once the Yupo background is dry, adhere it to the card front, glue the Christmas trees in place and add the sentiment strip using adhesive foam pads. There it is, a beautiful green and gold marbled background with simple trees and sentiment. I hope you like it as much as I do! Thanks for visiting. All the products used are linked below.
