Hi here’s another Valentine card, which gave me chance to try out the new Bevelled Diamonds embossing folder. I have to say I am delighted with both the embossing folder and the way the card turned out. It’s just a shame the photo doesn’t do justice to the sparkly word Love.

Hand made Valentine card with inked, embossed background and vellum heart.

To Make The Card

Cut a piece of watercolour card stock to 10.25cm x 14.5cm. Smoosh pink distress oxide ink onto a craft mat, quite thickly. Spritz it with a little water but don’t dilute it too much. Use a paint brush to paint the ink across the top of the card. Spritz a little more water on to the ink, mix it up and again paint a band of it across the card. Continue diluting the ink and painting the card to create the ombre effect from the top to the bottom. Allow the ink to dry slightly, then whilst it is still a bit damp emboss it with the Bevelled Diamonds embossing folder. Adhere this to the front of a white A6 blank card.

Die cut the word Love from silver glitter card twice and glue them on top of one another. Die cut a plain heart shape from white vellum. Cut the Sending You strip from the Wordies sheet. Glue the glitter word on to the vellum heart and the sending you strip just above it. Adhere the heart to the card front, make sure all the adhesive is behind the sentiments so that it doesn’t show through. Press the heart firmly in place to make sure that it sticks properly to the uneven embossed surface. Add two small adhesive crystals above the sentiment to finish it off.

I am very pleased with the way this card turned out, I like the texture, sparkle and the ombre background. I hope you like it too, thank you for visiting. If you want to try it for yourself, all the products are linked below.
