Hi, I used the Be Bold Blooms die set to make a Mothers Day card recently, as I made it, I got the idea for this card. Instead of grouping the flowers into an arrangement they are laid randomly on the card in a single layer. My first thought was to use gold mirror card with pink and green, but then I remembered about the copper mirror card and chose the orange and turquoise to co-ordinate with that.

To Make The Card

Start with a white 5″ x 7″ blank card and trim it down to 12.5cm x 16.5cm so that it has the same proportions as the rectangle die. Cut a piece of copper mirror card 12cm x 16cm and adhere to the card front. Use the 11.5cm x 15.5cm rectangle with small holes edging die to cut a piece of white card. Adhere the white card over the copper card.

Die cut a selection of flowers, leaves, buds and stems from copper mirror card, dark and light turquoise and light orange. Assemble the flowers and stems etc. then lay them out on the card in a random arrangement. I find it easiest to do this then take a photo, then glue them in position, with the photo as a guide.

Stamp the sentiment on a strip of white card, then heat emboss with copper embossing powder. Use thin adhesive foam pads to adhere the sentiment across the card front. I am pleased with this card, the copper adds warmth and shine to it and it’s a great way to use up smaller pieces of leftover card from other projects. Thank you for reading, I hope you like it too.
