Hi here’s another Mothers Day card, a very different style to my last one but again with die cut flowers. I love the Bloom Colorize die set, as it creates such a great 3D effect

Hi here’s another Mothers Day card, a very different style to my last one but again with die cut flowers. I love the Bloom Colorize die set, as it creates such a great 3D effect and can be used in so many different ways.

To Make The Card

Cut a piece of kraft card to 9.75cm x 20.75cm, ink lightly around the edges with brown ink and adhere it to the front of a white DL card blank. Cut a piece of striped paper 9.25cm x 15cm, again ink around the edges with brown ink. Smoosh some brown ink onto a craft mat and spritz with water then use a paint brush to spatter some over the striped paper. Repeat this process with dark orange ink and set aside to dry. Cut a piece of white card 9.25cm x 5cm, ink it all over with with mid orange ink, then stamp randomly with a hatching stamp in dark orange. Ink around the edges lightly with brown ink.

Cut the pieces for the rose and buds from white card, then use different shades of orange and peachy coloured ink to colour the various layers, with the light colour at the bottom and darker colours on top. Use brown and yellow ink for the small flower centre and the stamen. Ink the edges lightly with brown ink and assemble the flowers. Cut the leaves and stems from different shades of brown and green card, ink the edges with brown ink and assemble.

To complete the card, adhere the striped panel to the bottom portion and the inked panel above it. Cut a strip of kraft card 9.25cm x 1cm, ink the edges and adhere it over the join between the two backgrounds. Use adhesive foam pads to adhere the rose and then glue the buds and leaves in place with the ends of the stems tucked under the rose. Finally die cut the letters M U M from gold card and adhere them to the top inked panel.

I am really pleased with the way this card turned out, I don’t often use DL cards so it makes a nice change. I hope you like it too, thank you for visiting. All the products used are linked below.
