Hi, I am continuing my current theme of strips and stripes with a lovely card made with stencilled texture paste stripes. I chose a slightly more unusual colour scheme for this one with shades of orange, with gold highlights and a brown sentiment.
To Make The Card
Start with a white 5″ x 7″ blank card and trim it down to 12.5cm x 16.5cm. Cut a piece of white card 12cm x 16cm, use stencil tape to hold it in place on your work surface. Lay the diagonal stripes stencil over the white card and adhere in place with stencil tape. Smoosh orange ink onto a hard surface and mix with texture paste until you reach the desired shade. Use stencil tape to mask off the area where you want to apply the paste, leave 5 stripes uncovered. Spread the paste evenly over the 5 stripes, peel away the stencil and wash with warm soapy water. Leave the panel to dry.
In the meantime die cut three sizes of flowers from various shades of orange and cream card. Cut two layers for each flower and glue them together with the petals offset. Add a gold adhesive pearl to the centre of each one. Die cut two leafy stems from gold mirror card. Die cut a rectangle with crimped edges 11.5cm x 15.5cm. When the texture paste is dry, use the stripes to mark the angle of the stripes on the die cut rectangle, then cut it across at that angle above and below the striped area.
Stamp the sentiment onto the bottom portion of the die cut rectangle, in brown ink. Adhere both sections of the rectangle to the card front above and below the stripes. Adhere the flowers and leaf stems in a cluster over the stripes.
