Grosgrain Ribbon
Grosgrain fabric was popular for all kinds of garments from the 17th century until it fell out of favour in the 1920's. Since then the term grosgrain has been associated mainly with the ribbon which was widely used as a garment and hat trim. This 16mm wide, 100% polyester grosgrain ribbonmanufactured by Berisfords in the UK is attractive for its ribbed appearance and texture as a contrast to satin. Today it is popular not only as a craft ribbonfor card making and scrapbooking but also for gift wrapping and home decoration, as it's stiff texture allows it to hold it's shape when tied into bows or pleated. Seen here in elegant black, it is available in 5 other colours.
