Hi, it’s been quite a while since I used these slimline dies so decided to get them out for a play again. Yellow and green are very spring-like colours in my mind, probably because of the connection with daffodils. I decided to make this as a tent fold card but I am sure it would work just as well the other way. Also you could easily swap the sentiment for something suitable for Mother’s Day. The flowers would be perfect for that.

To Make The Card

I didn’t want lots of matting and layering for this card, so I started with a white DL sized blank card and trimmed it down to 9cm x 20cm. Take a piece of yellow card and die cut the stitched rectangle frame and the stitched oval apertures at the same time. Cut three pieces of tartan paper and glue them behind each of the apertures. Adhere this to the card front. Use the Cosmos Flowers die set to cut three large leaf stems, two pointing in one direction and one the opposite way. Plus two of the double stems, all from green card. Adhere a large stem and a double stem to each of the outside apertures, leave some of the leaves unglued to add dimension. Adhere a large stem to the centre aperture.

Use the smallest cosmos flower die to cut four sets of solid petals from orange card. Cut four sets of open petals from yellow card and adhere over the orange petals. Ink the edges of the petals with Fired Brick distress oxide to soften the edges a little. Glue two layers of petals on top of one another with the petals offset to create two layer flowers. Add a self adhesive crystal to the centre of each flower and use ultra high bond double sided tape to adhere them in the centre aperture. Cut the sentiment strip from the Wordies sheet and adhere to the card below the apertures using small foam pads. Add some small crystals to each of the apertures to finish off.

I think this is a very pretty card, which would work well in a variety of colour schemes and, as I mentioned before, with different sentiments too. Thank you for reading, I hope you like the card. All the supplies used are linked below.
